It's a list of every Mets regular-season walk-off (minus the "asterisk" game), indexed by player, from 1962 to 2005. The information was compiled by someone with major "Retrosheeting" skills and is part of a site that contains not only a list of walk-offs, by player, by team, but a great deal more entertaining information.

Those who Chase the Mets know...That since hit streaks will be talked about a great deal these next 3 days (see Chase Utley, 35 games, ongoing) we can tell you that the only Mets player to have a walk-off hit in the midst of a hitting streak lasting 20 or more games is Cleon Jones, whose 14th inning walk-off triple (a one of a kind occurrence in Mets history) beat the Phillies on September 10, 1970. The hit extended his hit streak to 18 games. It would conclude at a then-club record, since broken, 23 games.

A walk-off hitting-streak question: has a player ever had a hitting streak end when he was due to bat in the 9th but a batter before him wont he game with a walk-off?

Maybe our esteemed host can help out the publisher of the list, in updating the 10/3/99 entry "of unknown play". All true Mets fans know that was the game that sent us to the play-offs in 1999 at Shea. Piazza at the plate, ball goes to the backstop (PB or WP I am not sure, though my money's on WP.

Also noticed that it has been some time since we won a walk off without an RBI.

In total games we would break the record either late this year or early next. But our MWO host will likely have the number soon.

* Mets walk-off win #347 was the Mets 6th this season, against no defeats. This is the first time in Mets history that they've started a season with at least 6 walk-off wins before their first walk-off defeat. * It was Shawn Green's 2nd career walk-off home run, his first since September 20, 2001, when he homered in the 13th inning to beat Greg Swindell and the Diamondbacks, 3-2. It was the second walk-off home run allowed by Russ Springer, but his first since April 11, 2000, when Ed Sprague and the Padres beat him with a 13th inning home run. The best Mets ejections I know

When you think of the Mets and famous ejections, I'm guessing you first think of the famous Bobby Valentine mustache game, when after Valentine got tossed, he returned to the dugout in disguise. You know it. You love it. I remember being amused when I asked Bobby V about it while we were working on Baseball Tonight, how he simply said "It worked. We won the game." (true) But the Bobby V mustache game of June 9, 1999 is one of many, many memorable Mets ejection stories. And now thanks to Retrosheet and the magic of Newspapers.com , we have a convenient means for being able to share them. Ever since Retrosheet's David Smith recently announced that the Retrosheet ejection database was posted online , I've been a kid in a candy store. I've organized the data and done some lookups of media coverage around the games that interested me post. Those newspaper accounts fill in a lot of blanks.
